Carving Gourds with Rebecca Stark
many of you have requested this class
Rebecca will bring some examples of carved gourds
What to bring if you will be joining in on this project
a clean gourd
carver (not battery operated), all of your burs and bits and drum sander or sand paper or sanding block
pattern if you have one you want to use
pencil, pen, graphite paper, or fine sharpie and press n seal if using a pattern
Dust Mask (important as gourd dust is an irritant and there will be lots of it). Other safe-practice tips; if you have long hair make sure it is pulled back and can't find its way into your carver. Do not wear any type of loose-flowy blouses, they do get caught in rotary tools
masking tape if you want to place straight lines
apron
canned air for you, your project and your tools is nice. wire brush for your burs is nice
If you don't want to do carving just bring whatever project you want to work on along with whatever you need to work on it.
Main focus is to have fun with like minded gourders
Dont forget to bring your Show n' Tell gourds (maybe some of those washi covered egg gourds) and remember we have a photo booth set-up so feel free to bring your camera and use it.
