June 4th, 2012 Egg Gourds covered with Washi Paper led by Kennie
- What you will need: Egg gourd (s).
- If you are going to the Leiser Festival this month it would be a great time to pick up some egg gourds for this project.
- Kennie says "I kind of went through in my head what is needed for the Egg project for the next meeting. Really not too much. Here is what I came up with".
- ***************************
- Egg Gourds - you may drill and glue in an eyelet to hang it from beforehand. You may also paint them before you come to speed up the process. Any acrylic paint coordinating with the paper you plan to use. If Christmas design, red or green paint. Even gold. Or bring paints and do it at the meeting. You may want paints to "dot" it with after dry.
- Paper - anything goes. Small patterns are best or solids, even gold foil wrapping paper. Of course, origami paper is great if you have it. Just not too thick.
- Small sharp scissors
- Small flat paint brush (about 1/4")
- Tub to put water in to rinse brush and a few paper towels
- Scrap paper or an old magazine to glue on
- Glue - I use "Yes" glue but any white glue that you can water down to a creamy consistency is OK.
- You will spray them with clear acrylic spray after they are thoroughly dry. May be better to wait until the next day.
